Tonight, the German national team qualified for the Olympics (Dirk again had 30+ points) and will play against the US team in the preliminary round
30 seconds before the match ended, Dirk realized what was going on, then started crying tears of joy. He always told media that he has two dreams: winning an NBA championship and participating in the Olympics. Seeing this multi-millionaire crying for such a reason was stunning...

Congrats to Dirk... I hope he has a great game against the USA, but I cant root against my country... Im glad I can at least root for a Maverick on the USA team for once.

i'll be rooting for them to beat the us, there's so much pressure on that team to win and i dont care much for anyone on that team, especially compared to dirk. it was amazing watching him almost take down the US last time and id love for him to take over the game in this next one. who on that team can guard him?

I remember that game. Dirk hit a late bucket and then Iverson got the inbounds and hit a near-half-court shot at the buzzer for the US win. Great game.

And while I think no one on the US can matchup one-on-one with Dirk, they will just double him with Prince and someone else while Howard or another big guards Kaman. Hopefully the outside shooting of Germany remains hot to make it a close game.
