Mavs interests in D. Brown & Fin

I'd personally take Finley despite he's 5 year's older than Devin Brown. Fin's the perimeter shooter we miss. Not to say, he's familiar with Dirk and JET. Of course Devin Brown plays better under the basket.

Anyway, both are quite versatile (but average) player. That's something within our price range (vet min). I'd like to pick up either. Then, we can trade Stack for something by Feb deadline.

Daaaaamn, I loved Finley when I watched my first NBA match and I'd love to see him in a Maverick Uniform once again. Plus he is still a decent shooter (when he wants to :P ), but I don't know what he would bring to the table that Stack doesn't bring.

... but ...
- He is 35, and we are on a "get young players" mode
- Another jump-shooter, like Stack
- He would take minutes away from Green, Wright and Singleton (and maybe RAT or Foster)
- He isn't so familiar with JET... Remember...

Argh ! Do you think Fin will remember that ?

Moreover, are we going to take back every single former Mavericks ? Oh yeah ! We should re-sign Shawn Bradley or Mark Aguirre ! (On the other hand, I wouldn't mind if we take D-Harris or Marquis Daniels back home)

I only have sentimental value when it comes to Finley, unfortunately that doesnt equal anything. I pass and hope the Mavs honor him when he finally decides to retire.

Do you have a link?

Id take Finley over Brown, but I dont really see a need for either of them. It kind of reminds me of Eddie Jones' signing last summer for some reason.

I'd take Finley or Brown back. I think you'd get more from either of those two than you will Green. We're all psyched about Green, but I still think he's a project, who will ride the bench mostly.

Wow, Dentor.

The reasons that many here wanted Finely gone the first time was his lack of guts to drive into the lane and to play defense. He would be asked to do less than in the past, but he still cannot do those things that he could not do three years ago. The question one week ago would not have been finley or brown, but Finley or Evans.

Why can't this team find a Sg worth a darn? Easiest position to fill in the NBA

Signing Shawn Bradley should have been our first move this offseason, that's how you build a championship team. Those were the glory days.

I have many a fond memory of Fin but his time is past and it is best to let him fade into the sunset

The ONLY way I want to see Finley in a Mavs uniform is for the vet min and ONLY if Stack is traded as a filler.

i can only see this happening if and only if eddie jones decides to retire and george signs with another team... fin could be a backup wing man.... no way he starts over terry or josh..... unless carlisle has other plans in mind...

Maybe I'm still stuck in Avery Johnson-era Mavs, maybe Green will get a chance to show what he's got.

Here we are debating Devin Brown and Michael Finley while the Rockets add Artest. What in the world is going on?

The league hates the Mavs and Mark Cuban. They won't trade anyone (except junks) to us.
Maybe Mark's too high profile last few seasons. Portland's owner'd get the same treatment soon.

The Suns take away Steve Nash...
Every team won't make an offer for Finley...
Even Dirk get the MVP, he don't get MVP treatment on court (i.e. against Miami)...
The Nets steal Devin Harris and a couple of firsts for an old man...
Teams want to rob the Mavs this offseason (i.e. Josh Howard for junks or expiring contract)...

You say that but I feel Mark's been relatively quiet by Cuban standards over the past two seasons. But really I'm just tired of the Cuban and Mavs are unpopular angle.

Once again we are talking about tinkering with the end of the roster and not addressing the real problems of this team.

If I hear Donnie or Cuban say they won't pull the trigger on a deal because there is too much risk, I'm going to pop an artery. They need to step back and look at this from another angle and the risks of not making any moves.

When all is said and done and there are no deals available to improve, they need to swallow their egos and acknowledge that their past actions were complete failures and should seriously go the rebuild route to point this team in the right direction again.

We are in a nose dive guys with the pilots asleep at the controls.
