Mavericks guard Josh Howard was arrested in Winston-Salem, N.C. Thursday night for street racing, according to police.

Howard is facing charges of speeding, reckless driving, and speed competition, according to myFOXdfw's sister station myFOXwghp.com.

The website says an officer spotted Howard driving a black Lexus with a passenger on the city's west side.

Howard was taken to the Forsyth County magistrate's office and released on a written promise to appear in court on Sept. 23.

Howard graduated from Wake Forest and has been pro for five years.

Damn, talking about a player with sky limit talents turning into some Eddie Griffin like person. Sad, just sad.

Very typical. Someone who says he is trying to change his impression and get things turned around turns right back into the person every wants traded.

Marijuana...
Street Racing...

So. who do we have that IS pretty attractive in terms of trade value besides Bass.

we might as well go into rebuild mode since we can't make any blockbuster anytime soon.

Don't blame Cuban, even if he offered Kings would of declined. Howard is not what the Kings were looking for.

The Kings not wanting Howard? Are you dumb or what? The Kings ASKED for Howard and it was Cuban who said no. Now look who looks like the idiot. Well you can definitely count out any trade happening now, so you better be happy with the team we have now because I definitely am not. Howard doesn't fit in anymore, we don't have a SG and don't tell me that Green, Jones, or Wright is going to work because they aren't. Those three are all bench players at most. Kidd needs someone to run with and the only person that really can is Dirk because Howard has looked lost out there for a long time. This Jason Kidd trade is kicking us in the ass real bad right now. We would have two 1st rounders to work with and still have Devin Harris, probably not have had to use our whole MLE on Diop, and would still have Van Horn's contract to use for that big, expiring contract.

I can't imagine the Kings not taking Howard if he was offered. Even with this latest incident he could easily fetch more than an expiring and 2 late 1sts.

I'm honestly not surprised. Josh's immaturity has shown through time and time again...on the court in the regular season, in the playoffs, and most recently off the court. It's becoming almost impossible for me to expect this guy to come back next season and be someone we can rely on.

There goes his trade value. You guys are stuck with him now. It's amazing what money can do to a person. It can affect people positively, but also negatively. He need to get serious about representing the city of Dallas and the Mavericks organization.

He's a good player, but not that good in my opinion to put up with him doing things with no care in the world to the repercussions.

Damn it, Josh. You bonehead.

Crap, man. How do you make a kid who's got absolutely no training in finances a multi-millionaire and assume that he won't make a bunch of stupid mistakes?

The frickin' NBA is setting their employees up to fail. I'm not saying that I know what to do about it, but they better figure it out. The league needed rescuing from its own reputation about 30 years ago, and along came Magic and Bird to rescue it. I'm not seeing any Magics or Birds coming into the league lately, but I've got a funny feeling that we'll be looking for one pretty soon.

:o
