This trade I look at both sides as a win win. One the Mavs get a star that can finally make people pay for triple teaming Dirk (unlike Howard has been able to) It makes our bench thin but so was Boston's until the season began and look what happened. Start Kidd, Terry, Mello, Dirk & Damp and that definetly compares to what Boston started. From Denver's position they get an All Star in Howard and an expiring contract in Stack (who they may just cut and we can resign) and they get a young stud in Bass (I hate to lose him but you got to give up something to get something).

I don't think anything short of Dirk could get Melo.

Really. How is Mello working? Even with all the talent on that team and they struggle every year to make the playoffs. He is a 1B player not a 1A.

If we're a borderline playoff team this year would you trade Dirk for Okur and Millsap? That's about the equivalent of Melo for Howard and Bass. You don't pawn off a superstar just because you haven't put the right team around him.

melo is a 1A player, that teams a mess, there's not much offense outside of him and AI, karl has no control over the team and camby's defense was overrated

No SF besides Lebron is a 1A player! Unless someone is calling Kobe a SF. That includes TMac, Pierce, Butler, and Melo.
