Post#1 » by thaAteam » Mon Sep 15, 2008 3:36 pm

he has had a few injury problems but would fit great here, he's explosive and can finish! the celtics decided to bring him 2 camp but with 14 guaranteed contracts 15 once cassell resigns they cnt keep him, any thoughts

i was pissed when we didnt go after him in the draft, alot of potential with that player, though is it a guarantee that cassell will get resigned by the celtics? he looked done in the playoffs and sounded like he wore out his welcome like he does at every place he's ever played

well, according 2 cassell and ainge the contract should be signed nxt week, he could truly be a sleeper pick and with the way he can finish n kidd at the helm he should flourish in this system

It seems from all indications that Darius Miles is lowest on the totem pole right now, followed by Cassell. I doubt we'd let him go, given how Ainge originally planned on stowing him away overseas but changed his mind (calling him a short and long-term part of the team), FWIW.

Miles's contract is not guaranteed and Cassell hasn't signed yet. Walker, on the other hand, signed a 4 year contract with the Celtics according to ESPN.

I think Miles is the most likely to be released.

Not sure why you guys think we'll be cutting Bill Walker, but I HIGHLY doubt it

Neither Miles nor Cassell's deals are guaranteed

Hopefully Sam I Am takes a coaching position and sticks around in case they need a backup.

I think Dallas had a similar situation with Avery Johnson. Avery started as a player, but became a coach before the end of training camp. I think I recall that once he became a coach, he could not go back to being a player because it would be considered circumventing the salary cap.
