Nothing personal to HMMFL, but mavsfoty needs to make his season debut.
Could it be the answer to our prayers that we have the missing 2 guard link in Wright? Let's hope that Carlisle will give the guy a chance and solve a LT problem soon. If Wright can give mavs 10 points for 25 minutes with some good perimeter d, we can rest easy with that problem. Stackhouse could then fill in 12 to 15 minutes at 2, and Terry handles the rest with his other minutes at 1.

Wright could easily be as good as Stevenson, Salmons, A. Parker, and many other starting PGs in this league that are not starting material but are on their respective teams because they are "decent" on both ends of the court. And concidering his contract size & length, I'd take him over those same players.

I say let the guy play until he fails.

The season does not officially start until mavsfoty kicks it off!
I appreciate all the effort and time he puts into those threads!

I agree about A Wright. I think he's got a little game. I'm interested to what he can bring to this team with more minutes.

Mavs looking purdy good after 1 half. For some reason, seeing Del Harris on the opposing bench of the Chicago Bulls, gives me a feeling we've lost quite a bit of people from our team

The Animal is unleashed! Oh boy... Bass is a starter in this league, it's just a matter of time. We're looking really good, Wright scored 11 points in the first quarter, he plays really smart and he is a good passer, Kidd was pushin', Dirk was hittin', Terry can shoot from his sweet spots, Diop is all over them, our defense is rock solid, just give us the rings already.

On a more serious note, i really like what i'm seeing. Oh, Bass with the follow!!! Go Mavs!

The Good:
Josh with 4 steals
Mavs PG's with 12 assists
Diop with 8 boards
The Bad:
Diop with 4 fouls and 3 turnovers
Barea 3-11

Cmavswin, is Gerald Green and AW's performances not good enough for you!?

I thought AW really set the pace for the Mavericks in the first half. Great to see him do so well. He better have that starting SG spot.
Kidd
Wright
Josh
Dirk
Damp
I'm loving it.

Well i actually watched the game and i want all MAVS fans that were disappointed with the
signing on Diop to come out because i said it before and i'll say it again...Losing Diop was more
important to this team than losing Harris!!!The new system looks amazing i love it...we seem to beat
the opposing team down the court every single time i love it! Kidd seems to be enjoying himself!
I must shamefully say that i was not a believer in A Wright...I was WRONG he has been
tremendous on both sides of the court its awesome!!Howard is looking like the Howard of old. Dirk is...well..DIRK!!amazing as always. Dampier and Diop are unbeleivable when you combine them. The score is very deceiving the game seemed over by half time but we started playing our summer league team at like the middle of the 3rd!! Green looks really good confidence is sky high for him.
I played around with our roster one day and came up with what i though would be AMAZING!
We tried my line up tonight of:
1. Terry
2. Howard
3. Bass
4. Dirk
5. Damp/Diop
I thought this would work perfect and when i saw this line up on the court i was ecstatic! Needless
to say Chicago went on like a 12-0 run...DAMN!
Overall everything looked great hopefully we can keep this up i am loving the enthusiasm surrounding the MAVS new season!!GO MAVS!!!

Losing Diop was BIG. But he is in no way more important than Harris!

I fully expect mavsfoty to take them over. I noticed he didn't make it during the previous game and had a feeling he was waiting it out until the start of the regular season. Cheers!

Diop is not a better player than Harris by any means but losing him thined our 5 spot out
tremendously leaving old Dampier there with a good for nothing Magliore. At least Harris
was replaced with Kidd!!Diop would have been huge for us in that series against new orleans
to handle chandler and west a lil better. And yes we could have used Harris to handle
Paul but my point is that Diops role was not replaced and Harris' was i think we would have
been better off had we kept Diop...
But anyways that is all in the past what is important is THIS season and i am happy with
the ways things are especially with the fact of having Diop back and Thank GOD AWright
has been showing like he can possibly our starting 2 that will help so much!

While I do agree Diop was a significant loss, I think George handled West pretty well. Avery (as always) just refused to milk it.
Diop wouldn't have been able to guard Chandler since Chandler gets his points from lobs due to the center helping out from CP3's penetrations which no one was able to prevent him from doing all series, including Parker and Bowen.

Now that everyone agrees that A Wright can play the two, is there any way we can get rid of Stack? Id rather play A Wright, Green, JET (when not at PG) at the two. Stack is too old. Let's try to build him up early as trade bate and get rid of him.
A Wright is going to be a stud. That is why when everyone was complaining about giving up the picks in the trade. He was much better than anything we would have gotten that late. Not only should he be our starting 2-guard, he can slide to the three if Josh gets in foul trouble and let JET come in at the two (or Green).
