Dept Chart

Post#1 » by Darren » Sat Oct 11, 2008 12:30 pm

Who's in the playoff team?
C - Diop / Damp
PF - Dirk / Bass
SF - JoHo / ??
SG - Stack / ??
PG - Kidd / JET

DG, Wright, Williams, Green would battle for 2 spots on playoff rotation list.

It won't hurt much that neither make it. But I expect one or two of them win spot. It would be even better if we don't need to insert Stack into the lineup.

Who's on your playoff team? What about the minutes distribution?

C - Damp / Diop / George
PF - Dirk / Bass / George
SF - JoHo / Williams / George
SG - Wright/ Stack / George
PG - Kidd / JET / Barea

That's my 12. Green and the other summer leaguers will not be part of the main 12 come playoff time. Of course, any trade changes that.

I dont see why Green wouldnt be on there come playoff time. And I could definitely see Stack coming off the bench. The second squad will need some vertern leadership. I think with a full starting season under his belt, Wright would definitely be the starter. Defense wins in the playoffs, and I dont want to see Kidd, Stack and Dirk all playing D at the same time.

Kidd, Wright, Howard, Dirk, Diop
JET, Stack, George, Bass, Damp
Green, S. Williams

I know folks have this dream about R Terry and Singleton being good NBA players, but I just dont see it yet. I really doubt they both make the squad, much less the playoff roster.

He can and has played center in spurts, though the bulk of his min are at SF with a few SG and a few PF. In reality, our center depth chart is Damp / Diop / Dirk / Bass / George. If We "need" George at C then we are screwed, but if Diop and Damp both go down, Dirk will slide over with Bass and George doing time at PF.

Long story short, George is okay at 3rd string for any of those positions.

I think we should have Green as our 12th man rather than Barea

If we make the playoffs, I see no reason why Gerald Green should be left off it, because he's going to be a very serviceable player for us throughout the season. I hope I just didn't jinx him. Not sure about Barea as of right now, so I need the season to see how much he improved, but for the time being he won't make my list.

Dampier Diop Dirk Bass Williams
Dirk Bass Williams RAT Singleton George
Howard Williams RAT Singleton George
Wright Green Stack
Kidd Terry JJ

Stacks shooting % means he can't be counted on any more and since our younger players can shoot better run faster play better D and are bigger well you do the math. I see some think Williams is capable of playing SG maybe worth a look if he can earn it by playing decent D
