ESPN hires Avery Johnson

"Former Spurs guard Avery Johnson said at the San Antonio Sports Foundation induction ceremony that he is looking forward to his new gig as an ESPN analyst for the network's NBA Shootaround pregame show and a contributor for ABC's NBA Countdown for the 2008-09 season. "I'm looking to give my insight from a player and coach's perspective and be able to break down some games," Johnson said. "I think it'll be a solid fit for me this year." Asked if it would be daunting to match wits with the loquacious Bill Walton, Magic Johnson and Stuart Scott, Johnson, 43, said, "talking, hasn't been one of my weaknesses." Pfft, there are jobs open..I dont think Avery wants them since Cuban will stop paying him if he coaches somewhere else. Which just tells us he loves money more than basketball, I dont blame him though I would chill for a year if I was getting paid the $$$$$ Cuban does.
