So aparently the Mavericks have waived Keith Mcloud and that leaves our roster down to 14.
Now I have been preaching this since the day after we lost out of the post season...We need a
backup for Kidd!! Personally i think that with Wright starting at 2 that would leave Terry playing the backup point guard role. Which i love him as a point guard because i think he can guard players like Paul or williams(not STOP...but guards like Paul are extremely tough if not impossible to STOP). However i just don't know if Carlisle is wanting to do that and he hasn't been great playing the point during the preseason. Does anybody know of the best options that are left on the market for the point guard position idk about y'all but i saw that salim staudomire got waived and i like him Heavily don't see us getting him though. Otherwise let me see some suggestions on what y'all think we should do to fill the last roster spot. I know that we also could use a backup Center i wanna hear idas

I see out rotation lookin like this:

1 Kidd/Terry/Barrea
2 Wright/Stack/Green Hopefully Green could back Wright up and Stack could back J-Ho up
3 J-HO/George/Williams that would be awesome!
4 Dirk/Bass/Singleton
5 Damp/Diop/Bass

Salim is a PG? For some reason I though he was a SG.

Personally, I don't think we should and I don't think we will add a PG....just my opinion.

I'd rather have Lindsey Hunter than Dan, but I don't really want Hunter either.

We don't need the 15th roster spot filled. RC made a comment a couple games ago that he likes the second team group of JET PG, Green SG, Stack SF, Bass PF and Diop C. I've also watched as he's almost platoon subbed in that group for the first group. That might have to do with preseason, but that was a trend I saw anyway in watching the games that were on KTXA.

I like the idea of holding that spot for the best waived player out there or for a trade that brings more players back than sent.

I totally agree. Same reasoning I had. IIRC, I think we are only allowed 13 on our active roster and any extras need to go to the NBDL? I may be wrong; that may be the old rules, but the concept is the same.

I think extras can be inactive, either in NBDL, IR, or just not active.

NO, NO, NO!!!! No more old people. I do not want another over the hill NBA hasbeen. Forget Lindsey Hunter. How many times do we have to sign someone who used to be decent but is now well past his useful years. Next you have people here saying we should brink back Darrell Armstrong. For those type of players. Get someone with some young legs not some old guy trying to collect a paycheck. Why don't we sign Nate Archibald?

DJ Strawberry is available now. If we used that spot on a PG (which I'm not saying we should), he would be better than any other PG name mentioned in this thread so far.

Alonzo is a great idea but will he do it I thought he was happy in Miami trying to hang on there but if somehow we could grab him that would be a plus.
