Seriously:
Dampier / Diop
Dirk / Bass / Marion (here?)
Howard / Marion (maybe here?) / Williams / George
Wright / Green / Stack
(who?) / Terry / Banks / Barea
That line up is f'd in all sorts of ways.!
I'd rather let Kidd expire and see him in LA than add Banks.
Your lineup has a PF at the SF spot and a SF at the SG spot. Both are just wrong.
Only in a D'Antoni coached team is Marion a PF, I don't see D'Antoni on the bench do you? Thank goodness! Josh hasn't played the 2 spot much if at all, but a 6'5" maybe 6'6" guy with long arms
could definitely fill the spot and work well. He's guarded opposing 2's in the past he can continue to do it more full time.
Also, LOL at trying to put Bass ahead of Marion in any lineup while at the same time trying to say that Wright would start before Marion would. Terry was the starting PG on our finals run, so you're saying he can't play as our starting PG anymore? After all the hype on JET that you've been trying to sell to everyone he's not good enough to start anymore?
You are still a darn fine comedian.
As far as the trade, it might work, but I would have rather seen it happen before training camp than after it. Josh isn't proven at the 2 spot and it would be good to not have on the job training during the season. I think we have a better chance at resigning Kidd to a reasonable 1-2 year contract than we have at resigning Marion to a reasonable contract (his wouldn't need to be a short contract but it would need to be similar to JHo's). Because of that and losing either off the payroll still doesn't get us below the lux tax to replace them, I think I'd rather have Kidd.
What this trade would do, on the other hand, is give us more marketable players for trade. We might be large players at the deadline with this trade. Trading the reupped contract of Marion (that the opposite team orchestrated) and another high quality player nets us a disgruntled superstar.
