Stackhouse BLOWS

Is there any way to get this guy off our team? Id even take a second rounder for him.

Last night he looked way too old, slow and unmotivated.

Also, WTF were we trying to do playing 6'7" Bass on 7'6" Yao? Dirk needs to man up and play third string Center when the other loofs get into foul trouble.

I was glad to see Josh, Kidd and Dirk all playing well. I thought Wright looked nervous. He should settle in and improving.

Stack ont he other hand... I would trade him for a bolgnia sandwhich.

Couldnt agree more... I think last night falls more on Carlisle than those guys though... Failing to put Green in for even a minute, awful defensive matchups, and terrible subsitutions... Rick Adelman made Carlisle look like a rookie coach last night.

I agree, its seemed as if Rick was too scared to lose this game, I understand its the first home game, and the first game of the season, but it was a statement game for Houston much more than us. Playing a quick energy filled Green wouldnt have hurt us much, he could got us the line once or twice at least.

Playing Stack is a gamble, sure he might win us one game, but playing Green at least gives him some confidence and much needed experience.

Stack was bad I hate to say that because I have loved Stack and I think he has brought so much to this team for the last few years but he is the replacement of what Finley used to be here. I did think that the coaching was lacking at moments. What I am nervous about is in the last few pre season games we pissed away big leads and lost the game. I realize thats pre season and alot of times it was with back ups in the game but thats a mindset this team has to get out of and play the full 48 mins.

One other frustration I had with the game that was a problem last year why is it that the Mavs went to the basket all game long until the 4th quarter ? I'm sick of the jumpshots get to the basket !

Honestly guys everytime we built a lead was when Jkidd was in the game and when he went to the bench it and by the time he got back in it was back to 6-7 or double diigits...
i think when it comes to the bench we are in deeep doodoo
Stackhouse Like the guy said before i love him and his attitude im sure he could beat up people in the parking lot still but man this game has passed him by becuase of his injuries
Its not like their different injuries either...its his groin hammy and knee everytime
Hopefully he will support GGREEN but man its time i hate to say it but its time...i feel bad watchin him when cant move the way he once could
I know you guys remember him dunkin it on Jermaine Oneal a few years back
but like i said a few years back he is done
Jkidd brings energy from the get go and i think by bringing Green it brings energy from the bench
might as well try it...hes suppose to have a good jump shot and hes athletic hes gonna make mistakes but arent his mistakes worth living with cause he might get better
Stack wont...he wont get more athletic he wont get better defensively he wont get more explosive
its over

In the 4th Houston played good D. A few drives were blocked or deflected, at least one no call. What do we really expect when our 4th quarter players are usually jump shooters.

The only reason Stack blows is because the coach plays him. If the coach doesn't play him he's at the perfect position. Here's to Carlisle figuring that out. Stack is a 1 out of 6 game player. If RC knows the 1 out of 6 games he's going to play well in and plays him, then I'm all for it.

How the hell does Stackhouse get playing time and our young gun Green does not even get one minute playing time? Why can't people see that Stackhouse is done. He is not even close to the player that he used to be. He has not been a good shooter for a long time yet he keeps jacking up shots. I would rather have Gerald Green jack up shots, at least he can shoot the ball.

I don't want to see freaking Stackhouse on the floor unless someone else is hurt and we have no other options.

For that matter when was the last time the Jason Terry had a good game. He looked bad toward the end of last season and into the playoffs. He was terrible all preseason and he looked bad last night. When Jason Kidd goes out of the game and Terry takes over at PG this team SUCKS!! We need to get a real backup PG for Kidd. And please nobody mention that Novelty act JJ Barea. I think Terry is still OK as a backup SG but as a backup PG he sucks.

While I'll agree Houston played well I wouldn't say that their defense was that good and yes the Terry non call was horrible but bottom line they were going to the basket early and often and in the 4th they were not. But besides all that if we are having a 6'8 guy guarding a 7'6 guy as well as giving up a 112 pts a game we aren't going to win many games no matter how much we go to the basket !

Actually, I thought Terry and Bass were our best players in the New Orleans series last season. Terry was driving to the basket and played solid D (for him). Terry will not be the same player by going through warm ups and then setting on the bench and watching for the first 8-10 minutes.

I agree that Green should get every minute of Stacks PT. Stack should have retired after last season. He was worthless in the playoffs and looks to be worthless again this season... Injuries or not.

Any word on getting that bolgnia sandwhich in a trade for Stack? At least I could have lunch.

Man, I entered this thread to blast away at stack but after reading all of these comments, I kind of feel sorry for the guy. Although I do agree with everyone.

Hopefully he can get dealt to a young talented team that could use his locker room leadership. I still think Portland would be a great place for him.

Stack + cash for a conditional 2nd round pick and a trade exception would be a steal.

His expiring C packaged with Bass might be what the team is going to try because Bass is worth a player that makes more but can't be traded straight up for and they can use Stack because of his contract so that is why I say it might be that kind of deal. Another reason they play Stack is so that he can possibly show something that makes him appealing to some other team.
