Charlotte - Mavs; What would you do?

http://www.probasketballnews.com/pbn_br ... 10608.htmlMultiple NBA sources have confirmed that Charlotte moving Gerald Wallace is imminent, but Pro Basketball News has yet to learn of a definitive destination at this time.
The Bobcats have apparently talked about Wallace's long-term value to the franchise (he signed a six-year, $57 million extension in July of 2007) and decided that they would be better suited allocating such a significant salary to somebody else.
Yahoo! Sports reported in late October that Michael Jordan was talked out of trading Wallace in the offseason, but four games have apparently been enough to convince head coach Larry Brown that the Bobcats can afford to part with Wallace.
Golden State would be an ideal destination for Wallace, who would fit right in with the Warriors' up-and-down style. Forward Al Harrington, who has fallen out of favor with head coach Don Nelson and demanded a trade that he's been told will be granted at some point, is owed $19.3 million through next season ($9.3 this year and $10 next at player option) and would be the ideal pawn in a deal.
Considering New York has also been tied as a possible destination for Harrington, the fact the Knicks have Eddy Curry collecting dust also makes them a potential partner in a multiple-team deal.
Pro Basketball News has also been hearing since preseason that the Portland Trail Blazers have been seeking out teams for a blockbuster move as well, with no one outside of Greg Oden, LaMarcus Aldridge and Brandon Roy considered untouchable.
There are rumors that Charlotte has also been said to have grown displeased with the inconsistent play of Raymond Felton and is also ready to pull the plug on Adam Morrison, so a massive shakeup could be in the works. This is not uncharted territory for Brown, who last looked to significantly shake up the Knicks roster following his disastrous first season in New York and was fired instead, replaced by then-president Isiah Thomas.
It appears that Brown has a more willing listener in his new boss, who has apparently grown tired of the product he's currently putting out there. The Bobcats have not won more than 33 games in their four-year existence and look no closer to being playoff contender than they were in their expansion season, but are about to get a face lift.
Now, I would not do Howard for Wallace straight up, even with Kidd being the PG (because of Kidd's age vs Wallace's contract & concussion history), but I could see some variations.
Howard + Terry for Wallace + Richardson
Howard + Terry for Wallace + Felton + Morrison
If 2010 is their goal
Howard + Stack for Wallace + Richardson
What do you guys think? What would you give. I know Cuban was trying to get Wallace for MLE or possible trade when Wallace resigned with the Bobcats. I think Dallas is a target.

I'd do all of these deals, I think Cha would be more interested in Bass than Terry though.
So to make it more fair:
Josh, Bass and Stack for Wallace and JRich
Makes sense

How about this master plan. I think we will be a contender again.
Bobcats trades
Gerald Wallace
Jason Richardson
Raymond Felton
Bobcats receives
Josh Howard
Jason Terry
Brandon Bass
$1,7 million cash
Mavericks trades
Josh Howard
Jason Terry
Raymond Felton
$1,7 million cash
Mavericks receives
Gerald Wallace
Jason Richardson
Raymond Felton
Why for Charlotte?
Bobcats (Michael Jordan) are tired of loosing. They want to move Gerald Wallace and don't plan to give an extension to Felton. They consider this two a tradeable pieces. Besides, the Bobcats gets the best player in the trade (Howard) a good young guy to play along Okafor in the paint and a significant amount of cash.
Why for Dallas?
Cause the Mavs fill of their actual holes (SG and back up PG). JR is a great scorer and a versatile player wih plenty of offenive skills. Raymond Felton y a nice PG who is a perfect back up of Kidd and could be a starter in the near future. And Wallace is a perfect replacement for Howard. GW was tempted for Cuban last summer and he is a good guy.
Later this trade, Dallas will have a hole at back up PF spot. So...
Mavericks trades
Jerry Stackhouse
Mavericks receives
Antonio McDyess
Nuggets trades
Antonio McDyess
Nuggets receives
Jerry Stackhouse
Why for Dallas?
Dice is a veteran with a lot of power and heart. He can score and rebound. Also he can play some C. Is the perfect fit for Carlisle's sistem.
Why for Denver?
McDyess wont play for Denver. Hi agent told this to Nuggets people. Maybe he would like to play for a contender and a team (owner) that really loves his players and treat him like stars.
After this two trades, Dallas roster will be
PG: Kidd, Felton, Barea
SG: Richardson, Wright
SF: Wallace, Green, George
PF: Dirk, McDyess, Williams, Singleton
C: Dampier, Diop
Toughts?

I like it, but this would be almost impossible. I cant see the Bobcats parting with both Wallace and Richardson. That would be completely rebuilding around someone like Howard, who is very similar to Wallace. I cant see them busting their whole team up to get something done. Maybe Wallace and trash for someone.

No reason for Charlotte to take on Jason Terry's contracts when they already have Raymond Felton and D.J. Augustin. Jason Terry may be better, but they already have Jason Richardson who's by far a better player, and much more marketable. Both Gerald Wallace and Jason Terry have similar contracts, so I doubt Charlotte wants to move Gerald's and replace it with a less desirable player like Jason Terry.
Another thread with HOMERISH JERRY STACKHOUSE offers! Why are you guys overvaluing him?
A trade that has a foundation of Jerry Stackhouse and Brandon Bass is much more realistic if Charlotte just wants to free up money. Future draft pick(s) would most likely need to be included on our end. Diop may finalize the trade for Charlotte but he can't be moved until after December 15th.

I would probably do all those deals but if they make the Howard + Stack for Wallace + Richardson deal happen man I would be as giddy as a kid at Christmas !

Charlotte wants expiring contracts and/or picks. I'm sure they would love to have Josh. His contract is small at 2 years, 20 million. But Jason Terry is at 4 years, 40 million. That would be too much since Gerald Wallace has almost the same deal. The Mavs don't have any draft picks that aren't in the bottom half of the round, unless I'm mistaken.
How about this instead:
Josh 2 years, 20 million
Kidd 1 year, 20 million
for
Wallace 5 years, 50 million
That might work. However, I don't see Cuban doing it. He wants to wait and see if Kidd and Dirk will win a title first.

If the Mavs want Wallace this is probably what is going to have to happen in order for it to work.
Sean May
Gerald Wallace
for
DeSagana Diop
Jerry Stackhouse
The Cats wanted Diop for the MLE and Brown would love to see May go with Wallace. The only question is I believe the Mavs would than be out of the 2010 superstar FA sweepstakes.

You dont do that deal because there's no point in making the move. Do you really want to see a starting line up of Barea/Terry/Wallace/Dirk/Damp ? We would be strapped for cash and suck

That doesnt work cap wise. Nor is Kidd/Howard worth Wallace alone.
Also JES, there is no way Charlotte wants Terry. He makes no sense for them. Id have to think alot of other teams can give better packages if we insist on giving them Terry.
The guy I would target from Charlotte is Emeka Okafor. Probably unrealistic, but thats the type of center we need. He can move his feet, rebound, block shots and can finish inside. We probably dont have anything that Charlotte wants unfortunately. Diop/Bass/Stack would be our package and it just doesnt come close.

I'd try to avoid Bass, but if a trad like one of the following happens, I't heavily try to get McDyess once bought out.
Bass + Stack for Wallace
Bass + Stack + Howard for Wallace + Richardson

Okafor is exactly the guy we should target from Charlotte, though his contract status makes him to difficult to acquire. I like Richardson as well, depending on who's here to play next to him.

I don't see how Dallas would be able to obtain Okafor without breaking the bank.

Okafor and Wallace for Dirk.
Okafor is our PF unless Damp and Diop prove they aren't going to play in certain games. We don't really have a set 2 or 3 position they are just filled with Wallace and Josh.
Kidd/JET/JJB
JHo/Green/Wright/Stack
Wallace/Green/Williams/George
Okafor/Bass/Singleton
Damp/Diop/Okafor
Once this happens it opens up all kinds of ideas for trade. We become the Det Pistons who doesn't have a superstar but all solid contributors that will actually say they will focus on defense and mean it.

For this year, I like that trade, but as soon as Kidd decides to sign elswhere or retire, I hate that trade.

I started to try and figure out a Kidd for Conley based trade as a three or four team trade (have to be with Kidd's contract I think. If we could get Conley on this team with the rest, we could be interesting at least.
This year we tank games ala SA and pick up a good lottery piece in the draft then next year we go to work.

Another idea was to add Diop and JJB to the Charlotte deal and get Spencer and maybe Morrison or someone like him? Then the Kidd for Conley based deal gives us plenty of PG help for the future.

I don't think the Mavs would give up Howard for Wallace.
However, I think they would give anything other than Howard and Dirk. Wallace would be a great fit.
