Germany superstar Dirk Nowitzki has not made a final decision yet on whether he will play at next summer's EuroBasket but the seven-footer admits he's likely to rest instead of playing in Poland.
The 30-year-old Nowitzki, who helped Germany reach the Olympics this summer, is now competing with the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA.
He said to WDR Television: "I have got to say honestly that I am leaning towards a break.
"I have trained hard each summer for 10, eleven years now and played lots of games with lots of beautiful successes."
In no way, however, is Nowitzki considering retiring from the national side.
FIBA Europe's 2005 Player of the Year envisions suiting up for the national side at the London Olympics in 2012.
"The Olympics would be an absolute highlight," Nowitzki said. "I believe now it is time to take a bit of a break, but nothing has been decided yet.
"It will be a spur of the moment decision next summer."
