Trade ideas for mavs THIS year....

Anyone like the idea of marbury SG off the bench? I mean I know he's a ball hog but our bench scoring is awful and our starters get burned out in the 4th because of it. But is Michael Redd still on the table? Can we pry Vince Carter from NJ?

How about....

Stack+DG+2009+2011 pick+cash for Michael Redd

or

DG+Stack+Jho for pick Vince Carter

Stack+DG+2009+2011 for Marbury (playing backup SG NOT PG) and Eddie Curry (Backup PF/third string "foul-bucket" C)

Do we hold any bargaining chips here?

I think its clear we have no form of high percentage scoring so teams play zone and pound us on the offensive boards and we lose. We hit a dry spell were no one goes to the free throw line or tips it in and we lose.

First of all, (Stack + Geroge) X 1.25 +$100K = $10.85 mil. Carter = $14,724,125 and Redd = $15,780,000, Marbury = $20,840,625 and Curry = $9,723,983

Secondly, We cannot trade sucessive picks. The next pick we can trade is our 2012 and that is the ONLY 1st round pick we can trade. I'm not willing to trade that far in the future on a team heading to the lotto.

Thirdly, There is no way NJ makes us better as long as they have our 2010 pick.

Fourthly, those are crappy offers for Milwaukie, okay for NJ and terrible for us with NY.

its past time we stop trading picks and taking on huge contracts to mortgage our future. if we are going to make a trade at all, it needs to be our bad contracts for shorter ones and picks. otherwise, we need to suck it up.

Chicago Bulls get:
Jason Kidd

Dallas Mavericks get:
Kirk Hinrich
Andres Nocioni

The Bulls dump a lot of long-term salary, add a one-year rental mentor to Derrick Rose in Jason Kidd and become very under the cap in 2010 with Larry Hughes coming off the cap and Kidd coming off in '09.

New Jersey Nets get:
Josh Howard
Jerry Stackhouse

Dallas Mavericks get:
Vince Carter
Stromile Swift

The Nets dump some salary for the 2010 summer while adding another piece that makes them have a core that could interest a potential free agent. For example, Chris Bosh or LeBron James may be more enticed to play there if Josh Howard and Devin Harris are already in place. If Stackhouse can keep his mouth shut this time, the Mavs can re-sign him when if the Nets waived him.

C-Erick Dampier/Sagana Diop
PF-Dirk Nowitzki/Brandon Bass
SF-Andres Nocioni/Shawne Williams
SG-Vince Carter/Gerald Green
PG-Kirk Hinrich/Jason Terry

This seems like a much better balanced team to have around Dirk.

That team will bounce in and out of the 8th seed for 3 year while paying heavily in tax.

How do you figure? What all do you think that team lacks?

I don't think that team will win a lot either because Dirk and Carter, the two superstars, are two of the three softest players in the league, and not sure I trust either in the clutch, but I think they would be a good regular season team.

Would you agree if I say that team never reaches the 2nd round and has a good chance of not making that playoffs? While paying heavily in the tax?

Can you guys envision any reasonable deals that would send Brandon Bass to GSW and send Marco Bellinelli to Dallas?

ol rem and I have discussed on several threads a Barea + Bass for Azubuike trade. I think that helps both teams tremendously.

As far as Bellinelli, I don't think he has ANY value. I don't even think he has Deveon George value. Neither will see the light of day in Dallas.

One other interesting trade I would do is Terry for Maggette (if we get Marbury on vet min contract) but I would not do Stack-Maggette just because of all the additional salary.
