Randolph to Dallas?

Post#1 » by sweet daddy » Fri Nov 21, 2008 6:50 pm

http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wireta ... to_dallas/

What could possibly be the reason for this??

Maybe to facilitate another trade like Randolph/Howard to Charlotte for EO, Wallace, Richardson? Or to Clippers for Kaman and filler?

I see no use for him but who knows what gets done with a third team included?

This doesn't make sense at face value. There would have to be something else happening in conjunction with this trade.

Hmm what could happen?

Stackhouse is out, does anyone think Randolph coming in means Diop out? Anyways I'm like how this sounds so far.

Total speculation. This morning it was Zacky to Clips. We will know when it is done.

There would be no point in activating Marbury tonight if he was in the trade. It almost certainly means that he isn't.

And I can't see us trading Josh for Zach without getting a starting quality sf in return. Would they trade us Zach and Richardson for Howard, Stack, and filler?

Don't think it's Diop. Don't think he can be traded until Dec 15. But Dampier doesn't make that much sense for them. A 3rd team involved maybe?

I think I read Stephon was being activated to assure they have 8 men active for tonight. That must mean Randolph is for sure being shipped out its just a question of where and for who, interesting to see who we have active/inactive for us tonight.

How its speculated hes going back to the clippers for Cat and Tim and the only thing that has the deal on pause is confirmation from the Clippers. Damn.

i dont know how i can watch the mavz with Randolph...he has nothin special on defense
he can rebound and post up decently
unless the 3rd party is charlotte and we can get jason richardson then...i dunno...screw this trade
hopefully Rick Carlisle will not OK this trade
i dont like Randolphs attitude or his game
and his contract bleeds into 2010-2011
and i dont wanna give up williams singleton or green right now
its way to early

If this has any legs at all, it damn well better be part of another trade (e.g., Randolph to Dallas, then Randolph in a package to the Clippers for Kaman). Otherwise, I'm going to puke.

I think we'll see something like that...Dallas players to NYK, Randolph to LAC, Kaman to DAL

What if it looked something like this?
obviously this is much better than trading straight up for Sweaty Randolph, if the Clippers want him that bad they're going to have to take a bullet known as Erick Dampier, otherwise we keep him, and Marbury him.

Knicks send:
Zach Randolph, Nate Robinson, David Lee

Knicks get: Jerry Stack, Tim Thomas and Cuttino Mobley

Clippers Send: Cuttino Mobley, Chris Kaman and Tim Thomas

Clippers get: Zach Randolph and Erick Dampier

Mavs send: Jerry Stackhouse and Erick Dampier

Mavs get: Nate Robinson, Chris Kaman and David Lee

Maybe Dallas is trying to get Kaman?

As for any more moves, I've heard from a few people that Donnie is working on another deal, but it probably won't get done today and, therefore, might take the weekend to get it done. It is believed Zach Randolph is the player the Knicks could move in this other scenario.

I'm getting mixed reports regarding the Clippers involvement. More than one source has said they are very much interested in Randolph and one other said they're not. The issue, I'm told, is the roster. The Clips don't want to take Zach while they still have Chris Kaman and Marcus Camby.

The Daily News has mentioned the Dallas Mavericks as a possible third team in this situation, though it's being shot down in the Big D. Disgruntled Jerry Stackhouse certainly works from a Knicks point of view because he can easily slide into Crawford's position and his contract is up in 2010. Perhaps the Mavs would be interested in bringing Kaman in to play alongside his Team Germany pal, Dirk Nowitzki?

Not sure the numbers really work there, but we're just bloggin at this point.
