Love the thread.

As for the game, I don't like our chances if Josh isn't back in the lineup.

Man, I love the look of that lineup (with Howard). Without Howard, this will be a loss. With Howard, this will be close.

I hope really bad that J-Ho can play because the Spurs-Mavs games are always important and we could always use him. Its killing me that I have to work through the entire game and cant tivo it either. Ill have to catch the clip on SC tonight. Being that we are at home, and im expecting Josh to play (even though I havent heard anything yet), I expect the Mavs to pull through.

Prediction: Mavs 97-91

Best game thread ever

Love Ginobili as Saruman and Bowen as the chief of the Uruk-hai.
Also JJ as the little Frodo who carried the load in the last few games ... great

If J-Ho is able to play, I say bench Barea, but still give him 25+ minutes

My prediction: Spurs 98-93 :-(

Ehh...I don't know if it's just me being too optimistic, but if we were able to give the Lakers a game twice (while Howard-less & losing by 7 points each time), can't we still compete without Howard? Although I really hope he can play, I just have trouble excepting the fact that we have a 100% chance of losing this game if J-Ho doesn't play. Dampier/Diop's D on the bigs this season has been great (when the match-ups are right that is). And we are at home. I like our chances in this game J-Ho or not. Even though it's been what 4-5 games against "questionable" teams, Barea's play has gained my consistent play in these past games along with the team's play overall has made me forget we were missing Howard.

Nice game thread as usual. The as usual is Parker, stunt him and we have a great chance.

Josh Howard and Antoine Wright are questionable for tonight. Both did worked out with the team but that doesn't exactly mean they need to be rushed back on the court.

I predict a Mavs win if Howard does NOT play. If he comes back tonight they will lose. Yes, my thinking is backwards but thats my prediction.

I apologize for overacting in the last few game threads about Gerald Green. I realize my comments were blunt and very irrational to say the least. I understand that Rick truly likes Green and wants to play him but there are so many pieces to this team that he can't play everyone. Hopefully I get to see Gerald gets some solid minutes tonight but I'm not expecting much. A fast-break windmill dunk would be nice. It's about that time of the month for him. :P

Josh Howard will be sidelined indefinitely

Tim MacMahon E-mail News tips

Josh Howard's status is no longer day-to-day, as it has been for more than a week. He's out indefinitely after doctors gave him a walking boot to protect his injured left ankle today.

"He's made progress, but he isn't there yet, so we're going to shut him down for a little bit," coach Rick Carlisle said. "When there's an update, we'll let you know."

Carlisle declined to give an estimated timetable, because he said doing so would be speculative. Surgery is not under consideration, and MRIs showed no structural damage in Howard's ankle.

However, Carlisle said there's a "yo-yo effect" with the swelling in the ankle. Howard won't play again until the swelling and soreness are gone.

"You're talking about a dynamic athlete who needs to be up to near full capacity physically to be able to do the things that he does," Carlisle said. "You can't put him out there unless he's pain-free and swelling-free. Right now, he is not."

Carlisle did have some good news: SG Antoine Wright is expected to return tonight after missing the last three games due to a hamstring injury.

I still think we can grind this one out though.

Wow, it seems Josh is the opposite of Dirk when it comes to injuries.

Kidd with a terrible pass which gave Manu an easy 2 to start the game. Barea can not guard Finley that is just stupid. Dirk needs to stop taking jumpshots with Barnes on him really needs to take him to the rim.

Finley wants to take 28 footer's than by all means take as many as you want Mike. Great D by George forced that fall away 3 by Manu. Than finally Dirk drives and gets and easy 2 wish he would do that just a bit more.
