There will be trade (or trades)

Post#1 » by TAKE A TIMEOUT » Sat Dec 20, 2008 11:08 am

Have u seen Cuban's face durind the awful and painful lose last night at NJ? He didn't wise where to get. For sure, he was wishing that the land was swallowing him. There will be trade (trades) in the next two months because this team cannot continue being Kidd's team (he makes us worst) and because we need deseperatly a starter SG and a C who can score at least 10 ppg.

I can't remember the last time the Mavs have made a good trade, if they do make a move I hope they don't screw up like the last horrible one.

If Kidd makes you "worst," I'll give you Redd/Ridnour for him.

Dampier, although not an all time great, is the most unsung hero of this Mavs 5 year run. The guy is a beast in the middle taking up space, setting picks, and gobbling up rebounds. He is the number 1 reason the Mavs went fom being soft to a tough defensive minded team.

Kidd is not the problem either.

The problem is that the Mavs can only live and die by the jump shot because they have NO penetrating guard ( Devin Harris ) and no BIG post up scorer at the 4 or 5 spot.

Oh let there be trades alright, but let them fix the foundation for the future and not make a bad situation worse.

We're definitely going to be trading soon, Cuban was embarrassed last night... and you don't embarrass Mark Cuban... last time I saw him look THAT stupid, a week or two later (maybe less) the Kidd trade was pulled. Cuban, you make me laugh and cry at the same time.

Looking at the trades where Cuban's mouth is involved, I don't know if a trade is a good thing or bad thing.

And to the Milwaukee poster: we can't have Terry and Redd on the same team and I don't like his 3 year deal either. Counter offer: Terry & Diop for Redd.

Last night shows that the Mavs need to rebuild. The Mavs are a good team but have no chance of a championship. Trade Howard, Dirk, Terry, Kidd, Damp, Stack, for draft picks, expirings, and young talent under the age of 25 ONLY. Don't wait until these players are worthless and get nothing for them. It is time to try a new core group. I like all of these players but our window is closed for a championship. Unfortunately, this wont happen. Mavs will wait until the trade deadline and probably get rid of Bass, Barea, and Green for some old has been to add to our old core group and then get knocked out of the first round of the playoffs. The FO needs to put their crack pipe down and realize this current team is dying.

Well hopefully last night was the catalyst for something to happen soon. I read a rumor about G Wallace heading to Sac for Miller. Who knows the possibility of that. I just hope we shake things up and shake things up fast.

Why would you trade Kidd for expiring contracts when his $20 million dollar contract is already expiring.

Nowitzki's contract is expiring in 1.5 years; Dallas should only trade him if they can get something similar to what the Wolves received in the Garnett trade.

Terry's value is at an all time high, so it would be a good time to trade him to get good value back.

Howard's value, on the other hand, is at a low point. The Mavs need to show the league that he's still valuable.

Stack is worthless. The Mavs might as well just buy his contract out or use his contract in a trade as filler.

I don't think the Mavs can rebuild just yet; it's very hard in the NBA to completely rebuild your team through the draft. And this will only be harder to accomplish when the Nets already have one of our first round draft picks. The team might as well hang in there until 2010 and hope they can land a free-agent and sign Dirk to a discount.

Would Washington give up Arenas+James for Kidd ? Would Dallas want to take a risk on Arenas out with left knee surgery, with a big, long contract ? Washington saves a ton of money when Kidd expires from dumping Arenas contract. Other trades would have to follow, but might this be a starting point?

^Id even give with that package. He is overrated and we will probably sign him to a big contract, that he's no worth, and regret it later. Lets tear this thing down.

I'd do that if and only if Diop is included and not negotiated down to Terry & Stack. I'd also try and squeeze a mid 1st round pick out of it.

Do you think Atlanta wants Terry back?
