Anyone want Maggette??

Title says it all. As far as we're concerned he can be had for a bag of chips and a hot dog. So anyone want him and what could you offer? (Seriously, we'd almost accept anything at all)

Seriously, this has been beat to death on the trade forum.

Maggette is 29. He is selfish. He does not know what defense is. He is on a post 2010 contract (5 year 50 mil),

He is everything Rick, Cuban, and our team is trying to stear clear from.

I see ZERO chance he lands in Dallas. The only way I can even imagine it is if Diop (not Stack) is heading out and even then I'm not sure. I'm sure some despeate team like Toronto will make a better effert at getting him than we will.

QFT. He is not a Carlisle kind of player, I don't think.

Wouldn't really want him here even if he had a friendlier contract

That is supposed to be AK's flop that started the sh>> storm the other day. Pretty good job, huh?!

I don't know how I feel about Sloan and how he teaches his players to play. Malone and his crew were doing that as far back as I can remember, and I always thought that was pretty punkish behavior ... trying to flop and/or intimidate other players. But maybe I just feel that way because we've never had players that played tough and got under other players' skin (Popeye Jones is about the only one that quickly comes to mind).

Yeah, you're right about TD being a tough player. That was a long time ago, though.

I actually think this is a trade Dallas should consider. Maggette is exactly what Dallas needs in a way. He gets to the line 8-9 times a game and before this year with the Warriors, he was a 44%/45% shooter, who was solid for 3-point land. Obviously he doesnt fit in with the uptempo, jacking up shots style with Nellie because his %s have gone down. If it was something like Diop/Stack/Bass for Maggette/Turiaf, I think that would be a really good deal for Dallas.

Not sure Dallas should do it in the end, but definately something Dallas should look at.

I think we already have a similar player in Green so unless the Mavs got a ton in return with him I don't think he comes to Dallas.

I don't think the Mavs biggest problem is other SG but leadership.

We just need somebody who is passionate about winning like Nick Van Exel did a few seasons ago. When the Mavs are hungry, they always win. Obviously, they have enough pieces without a great leader who can motivate everybody to step up and play great.

Between, I think Jason Terry plays better and fits better than Maggette is.

The only way we get Maggette is if we trade Howard, and I dont see that happening. Maggette just signed a huge contract and I dont think he improves the Mavs anyway. He is pretty much a black hole on offense and doesn't even try to play defense. Besides, why would Golden St. want Stackhouse and Diop??

LOL, GSW would love to see Stack's expiring for Maggette, but there is no way in hell we do that! The only way we do it is if Diop and George are the trading pieces. I'm not saying the Warriors do that one, but that would be all that we would give up because Maggette to Dallas is just not happening.
