Sunday, 12:35 p.m.: Adam Wainwright [10-8, 4.38] vs. Matt Chico [5-6, 4.73]


This series is of course highlighted by the much-anticipated Cardinals debut of Piniero, our latest reclamation project.

Redding and Hanrahan have pitched a combined 36 innings this year. Chico has more of a track record, having made 22 starts so far.

Sunday's game features Chico and The Man! (Wainwright). (Reference to obscure '70s sit com starring Freddie Prinze that probably only old farts like me would get.)

Hey be nice to Kareem, the poor guy just got done being exiled to Siberia or someplace. They made him wear a uniform covered in decals; he looked like a racecar.

I read on realgm Wiretap that Steve Trachsel is available. Hmmm...a crappy starting pitcher who nobody wants. He'll probably be a Cardinal very soon.

Oh, and I'm not lying when I say Trachsel sucks, he has 6.18 xFIP this year, by comparison Maroth's xFIP with us is only 5.54.
