Mulder to Get Rehab Start on Thursday?

Post#1 » by pacerfan » Wed Aug 15, 2007 6:12 am

I believe in miracles. Adding Mulder in September would be sweet. Hope Mulder gets the start on Thursday and does well. Blurb in a Yahoo article on a game summary of our win over Milwaukee.

Cardinals pitcher Mark Mulder will likely make a minor-league rehab start on Thursday. Mulder has missed 116 games as a result of left shoulder surgery.

No telling what level Mulder will be pitching at if/when he comes back this season. He hasn't pitched in a lonnnnnnngggggg time. He might look like early-season Kip Wells. But I'm still hoping he can come back so that we can at least see if he can help. We've made it almost two times through the rotation now without getting blown out, but I don't know that I'm filled with confidence in Waino/Reyes/Wells/Piniero/Looper as of yet.

Mulder made his rehab start as scheduled. Sounds like he's a little rusty.

I read that he was supposed to get his 2nd rehab start tonight(21st). But I don't see anything on the Minor League sites.

It's extremely encouraging his fastball was around 90/91 mph in only his first rehab start. Comparing that to Pedro's 3rd rehab outing topping out at 89mph.

Tonight he pitched 4 innings with 3 strikeouts, no walks, and only 2 hits with 1 unearned run.

Hopefully he feels good tomorrow.

Mulder is scheduled to pitch against Pedro Martinez and the St. Lucie Mets on Sunday.

That's a pretty good pitching matchup for a Single A game. Fans in Palm Beach should be happy.

Still hopeful that Mulder will be back in St. Louis by early September.

Wow, that's pretty cool. If I was within a few hours I would definitely make the drive to see that. Even if both only pitched 4 or 5 innings.

Well Mulder pitched today, just not against Pedro, but he did pitch against one of the 10 best pitching prospects in the minors in Deolis Guerra.

He went 4 innings, 2 SO, 2 BB, 2 H, 1 ER.

The latest on Mulder is that he is supposed to pitch for us against Pittsburgh next week.

He makes his last rehab start tonight for Memphis.

I don't like the six-man rotation idea. Wainwright is so far and away our best starter right now, you have to put him out there at every possible opportunity. He has pitched a reasonable number of innings this season (163) and is not looking like he is wearing down at all. Let the man pitch! :nonono:
