Friday Late Night Game: Kip Wells vs. Jake Peavy

Saturday Late Night Game: Braden Looper vs. Chris Young

Sunday Late Day Game: Anthony Reyes vs. Justin Germano

Thoughts: Friday we get to face in my opinion the best pitcher in the game this year in Jake Peavy, and he goes against the struggling Wells. That game could get real ugly for the Cards. Saturday is pretty much an even pitching matchup, I give the edge to Chris Young, mostly because I still don't think Looper can keep this up. Sunday as usual I will be predicting a Reyes win, hopefully he can finally get one. I clearly think Reyes is our best pitcher with Carpenter out, but I know thats a touchy subject so I won't get into that. Germano is pretty good, nothing special, mostly a groundball pitcher with very good control.

Reyes just might prove to be our best starter with Carpenter out. Right now I'd say Looper is our best starter until proved otherwise though.

Wells vs. Peavy...

The Padres' uniforms hurt my eyes.

Those things are like looking at the sun. When you turn away you have blind spots burned into your retinas.

As I predicted a nice little loss for us in game 1.

And those Padres uni's are great, you just don't appreciate the color yellow.

I'm good with yellow; me and yellow go way back. It was just too much of a good thing. They looked like a bunch of radioactive bananas.

Well, if we are going to trot Wells out there every fifth game, we might as well send him out against a guy we aren't going to beat anyway like Peavy. That's how I see it. Now we stand a better chance to win the final two games of the series.

And he continues to prove me wrong. If he keeps this up for another 3 starts ima have to hop on the bandwagon. Great performance tonight.

I wonder if all the Cardinal hitters just absolutely hate Anthony. He has the worst run support in the game of any pitcher with more than 30 IP. He gets less than 1 run support per game. He pretty much has to pitch a shutout to even have a chance to win a game for us.
