Damn, good game last night. Too bad we couldn't come out on top. At least Maroth looked good in his Cardinal debut.

Shoulda scored in the seventh--no excuse for putting up a zero when you've got guys on second and third with no outs.

But I like the new guy. He showed good control and some smarts with those pickoffs. And I like seeing a lefty in the rotation. When's the last time a lefty started for us?

I don't know, when was the last time that Mulder started? I'm thinking this time last year. Although there was Narveson last year, and I think he may have started once for us last year.

But before that it was the days of Chuck Finley, Bud Smith, Rick Ankiel, Sal Fassero, and Mike Matthews.

^Good times. Being lefthanded myself, I've always been partial to lefty pitchers.

I still mourn the Steve Carlton trade that ruined much of my childhood. :(

To me, best series of the year so far.

Two pretty exciting games so far, hopefully two more to go.

Nice, a 6 inning lose this time. It's a conspiracy to not get Reyes a win. Reyes' run support I believe is now 14 runs in 12 games started.

Reyes shouldn't be 0-10, but I don't feel too sorry for him considering his ERA is 6.40. He just hasn't been very good. He has to learn how to pitch out of trouble instead of always having things snowball on him. I was really pleased to see him pitch out of a jam last night with runners on second and third and one out--he kept them from scoring--if he can learn to do that consistently then he has a chance to be a good pitcher instead of this decade's Jose DeLeon.
