He's trying to get 15M per year for at least 4 years, so hell no.

Yankee money but at $10 -11 per it would be a viable option

Yeah, but do we really need him even at that cost? We have Colby Rasmus who is a top 10 prospect in all of baseball who will be taking over full-time in center in 2009 and Edmonds still plays pretty much as good as defense as Hunter, when he does play. Torii is one of those low OBP guys which makes his more traditional stats(HR,RBI,AVG) look better than he actually is. I'd much rather put that kind of money into a pitcher, but now that Schilling is out of the picture there are no pitchers I really even like, so who even knows.

Yeah, outfield is about the last place where we need to spend money--buy some pitching, and let's give the Duncan/Rasmus/Ankiel outfield a chance. I don't care if they all hit left-handed, it will just balance out our right-handed-hitting infield.

We have so many outfielders we can even afford to drop Taguchi's option year. Nooooooooooo! The bench-munchkins brigade is sorely depleted now. Somewhere in California La Russa will sleep with a broken heart tonight.
