Forget Antonetti - It's Mozeliak for GM

This blows.

Maybe Mozeliak will turn out to be good, but it's pretty clear that DeWitt (a non-baseball guy) and La Russa are the ones who are really in charge of the roster. Considering that good GMing is going to be crucial to getting the team back to competing for championships, and considering that we'll now have a fairly powerless GM, I have a bad feeling about this. This is just not a good organizational move, it seems to me.

I haven't really been a big fan of the Springer and Piniero signings so far, moreso the Piniero one, but I hope it works. Eckstein is the main decision now who is a Type B free agent. To tell you the truth I'm not really expecting any trades this off-season which kind of sucks. But hey at least this GM talks with the rest of the FO.

Well, lots of respectable Cardinals observers are saying that Mozeliak deserves a shot. I'm still not sure what it says about the Cardinals organization that he got the job, but hopefully it will all work out for the best.
