Adios, Aaron Miles

This is going to make some people very happy.

I don't know that "happy" exactly describes my feelings, but I think Mozeliak made the right call. Miles had his moments, but he's not exactly an offensive weapon, can't really play a premium position (shortstop), and is just taking at bats away from younger guys with more potential who are already better than he is.

Mozeliak is inspiring mild confidence in me--probably about the best he can do this winter since his hands are tied for another year with all the bad payroll the Cardinals are committed to.

At least with this move and a couple of other recent ones, it appears that he is in charge of personnel, not La Russa.

Side note to the linked article: the Cardinals signed Bob Gibson's son?!? And he's an outfielder?!? Send the kid to the mound and tell him to channel his ancestry.

Shocker, how could they just let the great Aaron go

Also it looks like Eckstein will be going to the Jays. Kip to the Rockies.

Pujols seems destined to be on the Mitchell report.

And Chris Gibson absolutely sucks and only got an invite because of his name.

Return to St. Louis Cardinals
