Not me. Although I was optimistic that, contrary to what a lot of the sportswriters were saying, we would be at least a little better than last year. All the guys we "lost" this winter weren't really such big losses at this stage of their careers.

I didn't think we would be this much better though. I don't think this is a fluke, if our bullpen holds up we are going to finish the year above .500.

How about that 17-pitch at bat by Ankiel last night? And he has actually looked OK in center field too. I'm thinking more and more all the time that he is for real.

Damn jinx thread.

Yeah that Ankiel at bat was pretty crazy I believe over at VEB they were saying in the past 20 years the longest Cardinal at bat prior to that was 15.

While I don't think this is a complete fluke, I'm not sold on this yet either. I would be pretty damn happy with a .500 record and just staying in the race until the end. As you can tell I'm not trying to get my hopes to high so early, especially since it's only been a tenth of the season so far.
