Yeah it sucked to watch all of those guys in great position to score only to see the guys at the plate screw it up.

As for Hernandez, I think he'll do well tonight. The only reason I think that is because its the Dbacks.

The Rays have led the AL all season in hitting with RISP.

I think last night was just a fluke....

The Real Dalic wrote:True. But at this point in time the Rays are hitting on all cylinders and the starters are doing so well that we get to hide the weaker bullpen pitchers because they're pitching so deep into the ballgames. It also doesn't hurt that the Rays just traded for an allstar bullpen pitcher either.

Crain, if he can get healthy could be a huge asset. He's been super for the last 3 years in Chicago, it's just nobody has noticed given their track record recently.

He has shoulder issues, so we'll have to keep those fingers crossed.

I agree.

But the guy that has to get better soon is Matt Joyce. He was such a big part of our team the last two years and he's struggled all season long.

I do think he'll turn it around and I think it'll be really soon.

No doubt they would have ignored it had it happened to the rays.

We'll be hearing about this until the next time the rays play the Sox in september.

UGH

The good thing is when we face them next time it would be that much sweeter if we beat them.

more trade talk involving the rays, this time with michael morse. i suppose he would come in as a DH vs LHP. That would make SRod, KJ, or Ryan Roberts expendable and likely involved in the trade. SRod has actually been great this season as a bench utility guy, so im not sure he would go. KJ has been outperforming Joyce. Roberts has been the odd man out. I can see him getting traded. In that case, this would be another damn good trade if it happened. Lot of upside potential incoming, not much going out.

I would love Morse! I hope we don't trade a good prospect or the two players you mentioned up there for him. But I wouldn't mind trading Roberts who is off and on too much.

I knew it was weird. :/ Moore is a very big piece to lose for a couple of games. The rest of the staff is going to have pick it up. Fortunately, they have been for a few weeks now.

Missed call from the ump that allows the Dbacks to score 2... Won't be all over ESPN.

If Cobb returns soon we won't miss a beat. Moore will get some good rest for our late season push :)

Poor night for Helickson. Rays lose 7-0.

At least they get a day off then go against the Giants who are struggling.

As long as Cobb can return to form.

Moore was at the threshold of building consideration in the Cy Young talks down the road.pace

Although JH's W/L record is good, he has regressed this year.

His BB ratio is too high, and he throws too many pitches on most nights.

With Moore out he'll need to gain better command.

With Price I thought it would help that he took a bit of a break on the DL. We knew he would turn it around, he's too good.

With Cobb though... I'm a little worried it might set him back some. Cobbs my favorite pitcher on this team, but, he's nowhere near as good as Price. So I'm worried this hindered his great progress this year. I definitely hope I'm so wrong here though.

Yeah, he doesn't seem as confident as last year out there, especially with men on base.

He seems to be benefitting from the improved offense this season more than anything.
