That's my needlessly childish way of saying, here's the Rays 25 man roster going into this season.

LF - Carl Crawford
SS - Ben Zobrist
DH - Rocco Baldelli
1B - Ty Wigginton
RF - Delmon Young
3B - Akinori Iwamura
C - Dioner Navarro
CF - Elijah Dukes
2B - B.J. Upton

Josh Paul, Jonny Gomes, Greg Norton (15 day DL, to be replaced by Carlos Pena), Brendan Harris.

SP - Scott Kazmir
SP - James Shields
SP - Casey Fossum
SP - Jae Seo
SP - Edwin Jackson

RP - Ruddy Lugo
RP - Shawn Camp
RP - Al Reyes
RP - Gary Glover
RP - Juan Salas
RP - Brian Stokes
RP - Jae Kuk Ryu

60 day DL - Jon Switzer

Harris has a piss weak bat and with the defensive versatility of Upton, Iwamura and Wigginton, I'm really not sure why they bothered with him. Oh well.

Makes for some good talent waiting at triple A.

I wonder if they'll deal Josh Paul at midseason, cos Shawn Riggans is awesome.

Riggans>Paul
Orvella>Glover

Alot better than last year though, I'm excited.

Paul's OK. Hit for average if not power, throws out base runners. Nice to hold onto him just as something to deal.

Riggans is the s**t.

Orvella should be the s**t but kinda isn't. But I don't see what Glover's done over him except show the ability to be a long reliever. A long reliever really isn't the need right now. A closer is. But oh well.

Fun fact: I met Gary Glover at FanFest, he was signing with Edwin Jackson before Kazmir came out. I felt bad for him because nobody wanted his signature and they were just waiting for Kaz. I let him sign my jersey.

Awesome. Put it on eBay. Now that he's made the cut, that's got to be worth at least 95 cents.

That lineup has so much potential, its a shame that Kazmir is your only real pitcher.

Shields is gonna break out this year. He's mixing in a sick curve and his change is already one of the best in the biz.

And Jae Seo man, JAE SEO.

And Edwin Jackson's kinda back to top prospect status. He stopped walking people.

And of course the immortal Gary Glover.

so who's your closer?

There isn't one. Not yet. If one of the 7 there doesn't win it, they might scramble to get one, or call up Orvella/McClung. Jackson closed at Durham last year so if starting doesn't go well, maybe he does that and Howell comes up to start.

Realistically, though, it's Al Reyes, Brian Stokes or Juan Salas.

I think it's gonna be Salas.

Can the Rays just play 5 inning games this year?

They'd make a run at it if it were so.
