Jorge Cantu is still not a happy bunny

Cantu suggested Sunday that he would not take another demotion well and could again demand a trade.

"If they send me down again, we are going to have to talk things through," he said. "It would be clear to everybody that they don't think I have any future with them."

When Cantu was sent down at the end of spring training, he raised the possibility of not going to Durham and had his agent demand a trade, but he eventually reported and handled things professionally. He was recalled April 24 after Iwamura's injury and hit .269 in 10 games.

"I'm coming to the point now where I've got to make sure I'm going to continue with my career," Cantu, 25, said. "If they decide to go that way again, so be it."

Well, Baldelli will be back soon, so it's still inevitable.

If your defense was better, Josh Wilson probably wouldn't be here in the first place. So it's still very much in his own hands.

Eh, he sucks anyway. If I was him I'd be happy with the money I've made and buy myself a nice condo in Durham.

It's really a question of no room in the lineup.

There's plenty of room - Ty Wigginton does not need to be playing this much. He slugs averagely and has a terrible OBP. He's not av everyday DH, let alone a cleanup hitter.

Gomes could be doing this. Gomes perhaps should be doing this. He strieks out too much, and doesn't hit for average, but he gets on base and slugs .500 when given the opportunity.

So give him it.

But you have to think the way Madden does....lol

I agree that Wiggy isn't a solid cleanup guy, but Gomes has been a mess at the plate. There is no doubt that he'd probably work some of that out with more AB's ......but honestly, he gets too many K's as well.
