What more does Jon Switzer have to do?

I know he's a AAAA player, but right now that's better than Casey Fossum, Shawn Camp and Brian bleedin' Stokes.

I know he's a left handed pitcher who can't get left handers out, but he sure seems to get right handers out enough.

I know he's not that good, but right now "not that good" is an upgrade of "Christ he's terrible".

I still don't know what they expect to see from Fossum. Whatever it is.....I don't think it's working.

Here's Switzer's AAA numbers:

15.1 innings
14 hits
1 run allowed (earned)
5 walks
13 strikeouts
1.12 WHIP
.250 average

0.57 ERA

So, yeah, let's have some. Pretty please.

I think the Rays are still holding out some hope that Fossum and Camp can become stable.

I'm not sure about either one...Camp does a sinker that can be invaluable to a team in certain situations. Now, if he only had decent command............

Fossum? Who the hell knows.l

I think Camp's sinker moves too much. He never seems to know where it's going, so he throws it down the middle of the plate, and it just tails off way too much that it's an inevitable ball. Better command would help, obviously.

Fossum's just crap and I don't get why he's still here. Camp has a role to play, and even though he's playing it really really badly, it's maybe still within him somewhere. Maybe. But Fossum doesn't have arole to play. He's left handed, but he can't get left handers out, so what's the point? He's no more successful in relief than as a starter, and whenever he plays he gives up runs. What do they see there?

I think Fossum is at a last resort status.

Obviously, he'll get more opps, but I tend to agree.....in that he can't get people out.

Maybe a miracle happens with him? Nah, I doubt that too.

Time will take care of him.
