Fossum DFA- Switzer recalled

Post#1 » by craig01 » Wed Aug 8, 2007 7:36 pm

Casey Fossum was designated for assignment, while Jon Switzer was recalled.

This is likely the end of Casey "the human hit" Fossum in Tampa.

Rays still owe him about 3 mil. Ouch.

WOOP WOOP

SOMEONE GIVE ME AN AMEN!!!!

He was outrighted, for what it's worth. Corcoran got his spot on the 40 man roster.

Oh God I love Tim Corcoran. I have no idea why.

"The Hit Machine" is gone.

I knew you'd be happy.

It's worth repeating that we're giving him $3 million to piss off. This doesn't happen often and could very well be interpreted as a sign that money isn't as important as it used to be, which is a good thing. The Rays also seem to give up cash in every trade, so that's good too.

If we're willing to pay him the full $3mil to just walk, it would be pretty cool if another team would like him & we get something in return; granted we pay most of his salary.

Nobody would want Fossum.

He's a AA pitcher with a lefty wing.
