Offensive hope

The Rays are showing signs of maturity.

Offensively, they are hard charging up the ladder in some key areas.

The Rays current rank in the AL as follows;

Batting ..........5th at .268

Home Runs ......2nd with 156

Stolen Bases ....... 3rd

Runs scored ....... 8th (up from 10th)

Slugging .........4th at .432

Record to date is 56-81.

The Rays would need to finish 14-11 to end at 70 W's.

AVG .270 - (t)7th

HR- 163 - 2nd

Runs - 686 - 7th

Slugging - .437 - 4th

SB - 114 - 3rd

I don't really think offense has been a problem these past few seasons. It's been being able to stop opposing offenses.

In comparison to how inneffective, and where they started this year at the plate, the offensive stats that have been steadily rising, are at least very solid.

Pitching is on the way..........

During the last 17 games, the Rays rank as follows during the streak:

Runs - 1st in majors, 129
Batting - .305, 1st in majors
HR's- 32, 1st in majors
Slugging- .540, 1st in majors

ERA- 3.97, 3rd in AL, 8th in majors
Opp Avg - .255, 3rd in AL, 6th in majors.

The Rays have allowed 39 BB in the 154 IP during this streak.

Impressive.
