Rumours are he'll be looking for 10 mil, and the Rays will be thinking 4 mil.
That's quite a spread.......he was great here last year, but the Rays are consumed with holding to their budget on payroll. If they do, then Pena goes to arbitration and will win imo.
Last years payroll was around 23 mil, and the Rays are looking to increase it by 20% for next year.
That is no way to do business when they have the worst pitching staff in MLB.

I would hate to see the core of Young, Crawford, and Upton being touched.
They have the potential to become the most complete OF in MLB. Great defense, great arms, excellent hitters, lots of speed, and clutch everyday players.

Man, the whole Devil Rays thing was cool....you all had some cool unis too. I like the green alot but was never fond of the devil ray that's on their hat.
But it looks like the Rays are copying the Royals' look. Not to mention being name for the suns is not as intimidating as DEVIL RAYS.

I liked the DEVIL too, and got used to the green.....at least it was unique.
Not a fan of the blue/blue theme.
The dark blue is to associate the Rays with the deep blue waters in the gulf.
The light blue is to signify the florida sky.
The sun thing is for a bright future, or something like that.
The new hat is nice.
