Rays left fielder Carl Crawford, who has made the triple into an art form, held court the day before the first full-squad workout at the Raymond A. Naimoli Baseball Complex.
"I'm really excited this year," Crawford said on Monday. "[It] just feels like it's going to be a little more peaceful this year. Things will be a little more at ease this year, not so much crazy stuff. I feel like you just get the feeling everybody wants to just come and play good baseball. ... It seems like a fresh start. Everybody wants a fresh start when it comes to the baseball season because you get to wipe out the past no matter what happens."
Crawford allowed that he is more excited for this season than years past "because this is the best team they've ever put together and we all know that, so we want to try and show people that this is the best team that's been around."
