Pitching isn't only Rangers problem

n fact, if you're even thinking that general manager Jon Daniels' No. 1 priority should be the pursuit of free-agent pitching, this column is really for you.

The Rangers' problems as a last-place team extend far beyond the pitching mound. All you have to do is crunch a few numbers and realize that until they hit the ball and field it better, they will never compete with the elite of the American League.

Remember when this ranger team had .500+ seasons, the BULLPEN was the key. They did everything this year poorly, but the biggest need is good arms to throw strikes.

Road wins would not be bad either. The Rangers need a really solid #3 hitter, closer and a CF. If they get 1 and 3 as the same player that would be great.
