1. Can Rangers sign Cliff Lee?
2. Who Plays Catcher?
3. Should they re-sign Francouer?
4. Is the starting staff strong enough with Lee? What to do if they cannot sign Lee?
5. What $$ should they pay Hamilton?

Other questions?

Texas failed to bring back Cliff Lee, but luckily he opted to go to the NL, and not sign with the Yankees.

Now it's time to aggressively go after ZG and/or Matt Garza.

ZG would be a nice addition, but it's going to cost Texas some of the farm.

Signing Brandon Webb would also be a nice addition.

Well the Rangers were not going to get Greinke since the Royals were hell bent on sending him to the national league. Unless Webb starts throwing harder than 82 than the Rangers need to steer clear of him. Not a lot out there so whatever the Rangers do it will be a bit of a gamble.

Talks with Adrian Beltre continue. I have mixed feelings about Beltre.

Mixed feelings indeed. If we are "close" to signing him I hope we didnt overpay for his services, $90 million tops. Beltre has a rep for being a contract year player but that is overhyped, he played in LA and Sea both not hitters parks, while Bos and B at Arlinington are hitter friendly. Beltre defensivily is an upgrade at 3B but at the cost of Young? Maybe he can be moved to DH, 1B?, or utility player.

$96 million over six years is being reported now. It appears it's going to become a done deal during the near future.

Sixth year not guaranteed on this deal he must put up certain numbers in order for that 6th year to be guaranteed.

Adrian Beltre is a Texas Ranger.

I say we still go after Matt Garza, he would make this offseason a sure fire success. Give the Rays C.Davis, Borbon, and one of our prospects.

As part of his new contract with the Rangers, Adrian Beltre needs 600 plate appearances in 2015 or 1,200 plate appearances from 2014-15 in order for his $16 million option for 2016 to vest automatically. Source: Ken Rosenthal on Twitter

I too have mixed feelings on the Beltre signing, but it helps our infield overall. Young is now DH/superutility and can step in when injuries inevitably happen. I am glad we didn't give up the high asking price for Grienke, Garza would of been nice but he is now a Cub. I like the Webb signing, his resume' is good and we seem to be alright resurecting players for a good season, goes w/out saying I would of LOVED to have Lee back and every Ranger fan will obviously feel the same.

Manny really? Jim Thome I understood becasue he was left handed and the Rangers are verr right handed right now. I really like the Beltre signing due to Young's range at third becoming very limited and the fact that the Rangers now are more versatile than they were with Vlad. Hate that we lost out on all the top pitchers that were avaliable but at least they all went to the NL instead of the damn Yankees.

When I read about it today it caught my by surprise.

The Rangers are pursuing free agent outfielder/designated hitter Manny Ramirez. He would be the big right-handed bat at DH and off the bench. It would likely mean far more playing time for Michael Young at first base and would cut into Mitch Moreland's playing time. But the Rangers are definitely interested in Ramirez http://trsullivan.mlblogs.com/archives/ ... mirez.html

Mike Napoli! One of my favorite players I like that Daniels traded for him. Francisco was expendable and I will not miss him in the slightest we have the bullpen depth. Offensively this Rangers team is lethal this should be another exciting year.
