One of many trade rumors making the rounds at the All-Star Game had the Braves among a handful of teams still interested in Rangers first baseman Mark Teixeira, the former Georgia Tech standout who is eligible for free agency after the 2008 season.

Two potential sticking points: The Rangers would probably accept nothing less than top Braves prospect Jarrod Saltalamacchia and another young player, and Teixeira is represented by agent Scott Boras and expected to ask for a long-term contract worth perhaps $20 million per season.

I am glad it is not likely. Maybe JS finally wise up here a little and quit trading prospects for one year rentals. We got burn badly in the Farnsworth trade and the JD Drew trade. Braves could really use Zach Miner and Adam Wainwright right about now.

You should trade him. We should have traded Vernon Wells last year. Now hes stinking it up and getting paid like 20 million a year.

well if we dont we'll still have this off season and next years deadline. everyone knows he's not resigning with us so we're either getting draft picks or a decent package.
