We do need outfield help. I liked him. For a stop gap i would get him in here for another year or two.

God no, its that kind of thinking that caused the Rangers to have 7 losing seasons in the past 8

My only thought, along with Uncle Norm, is that they do not have any real OFs, and Mench has had a fairly decent career. Norm was suggesting today that he be a platoon with Catalanato.

Kill me if that happens
Edit: I forgot we're the Rangers. Kill me WHEN that happens

Where does the bradley signing put this lousy outfield?
Bradley
Byrd
Botts
Catalatto
Cruz
Murphy
That is a lot of crap and unfulfilled promise. UGH.

I guess mench was pretty spare last year. I still think he would be the second best outfielder in Texas behind Byrd, who is destined to fall back next year.

he's only gotten worse as he's gotten older and his obp is going even lower, our OF sucks but id rather give an unknown or unproven player rather than see mench spare it up again.
murphy finished on a great note last year, lets find out if it was a fluke (which it probably was) or give botts or cruz chances until bradley's healthy.
i realize both cruz and botts might not be anything special and that we've given them chances but they havent gotten consistent playing time, playing 3 or 4 times a week sometimes you cant get into a groove when you're constantly in and out of the lineup.
maybe someone like emil brown will get non-tendered, he sucked last year but had 2 years of better than .800 OPS before that
