Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that there’s actually a complicated option structure that will play out after this year. The Jays will decide on a three-year club option. Should they decline, Green will be able to trigger a player option for 2024. If he declines that, the Jays can then decide on a two-year option with a higher average annual value. Rosenthal adds that Green has already passed his physical.

Interesting gamble, could end up like Kirby Yates, which gives Green the protection to re-up for another year.
Still don't understand all options and how much salary,but for a guy who missed half the year, and is gonna miss half this year or longer, to get 2 years 8 mill pretty good.
Also firmly puts us in the lux tax area.
