Zaun in the booth

Post#1 » by Field87ven » Sat Oct 20, 2007 11:52 pm

does anyone like zaun in the booth as much as i do? He's perfect, calm at the camera and he has a load of inside knowledge about the game.

I was watching the pregame segment with him and Jamie today, I think I learned more about baseball than I have in a long time.

Sorry if this has been posted/discussed to death before. I looked and there was no thread on it.

I hope once he retires for good he'll be our colour commentator, anyone agree?

I actually agree, he is very knowledgeable about the game, and he is very good on camera. He fits in with all the commentators too. I think once he retires, he will become a commentator. If not I would be shocked...

Zaun has done so much tobacco, that even in the studio it looks like he has a lipper in.

But I do agree, he would be a very good colour commentator, much better than Rance or Pat because he knows when to talk, and how long to talk for. And his knowledge is much more valuable to the listener than Rance's.

I'm sure him being a catcher is no coincidence that he is very knowledgeable in the game

Yes, Zaun is good. But it really makes me feel like we have an announcer playing catcher for us. Maybe Jamie Campbell can be our closer next year.
