Sorry guys. That walk was my fault, I’ll turn the game off again.

Trying to find any positivity with this team - good to see Manoah with back to back good starts.

Vladdy is heating up but man he needs to show some power.
Bo on the other hand is heading in the opposite direction. He looks awful this year.

Manoah haters in shambles right now.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

This is imo the biggest X factor for any hope of success this year. Offence might be too weak to take advantage, but if old AM shows up our starting rotation has the potential to dominate.

His only issues in both starts has been when I turn on the tv and he walks someone in 4 or 5 pitches and then I frantically turn the tv off again.

Many years ago there was an over reliance on stats like BA and rbi’s in evaluating players. To sa they are meaningless now is ignorance and you cant get an understanding of what a player has done without them.
Them guys are just stuck on the other side

Manoah, Springer, and Vogelbach combining for today’s win was not on my bingo card.

If Varsho had an Above Average batting average, posters like Randle would not be considering stats like BA as meaningless. Varsho with another 0 for 4 hitless game, and now batting an atrocious. 206. I have no idea why this organization insists on having him hit Second, when he was performing better in the bottom of the order.
Obviously, Stats like WAR are important, along with many others like OBP and OPS. However, it is foolish to simply ignore BA as something that is outdated and more relevant for the year 1998. You cannot get a complete picture of a player or even an entire team without factoring in BA (even in situations like BA with RISP); no matter if the year is 1998 or 2024.

This is a highly unexpected - and highly positive - development. I still don't think this team has enough hitting, though, especially if our key big guns continue to underperform so significantly. We can't have all of Springer, Bichette, Guerrero, and Kirk perform so poorly.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

No they wouldn’t be talking up batting average. Stop making up arguments.

Let's see how he does in his next 3 or 4 Starts. I recall how he had a couple of decent starts last year when he got called up from the Minors, before he imploding again.
If Manoah can go out there and put up similar performances like he did today in his next 3 or 4 Starts, it is definitely a positive development. It means putting Rodriguez in the bullpen where he can be a definite upgrade over a guy like Nate Pearson.

I went back to the game log from 2023 return and he only had quality start (by the actual definition of a QS or not). So this already is more than that. Although I am still leery - its only 2 games.
I'm hoping some of his issues in early 2024 were due to his weight loss, which meant that he had to adjust his mechanics for command and pure stuff and now he is there.

Re: Blue Jays Vs. Rays (May 17-19)
I don't watch enough to know Vogelback . I turn on Jays in 30 and see this overweight guy get a homer, double and single and score on all 3 hits.
I thought right away, oh no another guy like Kirk to hit into double plays. Can't argue with yesterday's results though

He was very close to getting demoted / released before yesterday.. good timing for him.
