You could just as easily say that if Vlad couldn't hit at all, he'd be one of the worst baseball players in the history of the professional game. What of it?
Every player has their strengths and weaknesses and Varsho's strength is that he's a generationally good defensive outfielder. The jury is out on whether that is the case with Vlad with the bat. I certainly wouldn't want to be the org making the $400M bet (and you can guarantee that will be Vlad's ask if he closes the season hitting like this) that you'll get the 2021 and 2024 versions of him going forward over the 2022 and 2023 versions.
Who cares how much Vladdy gets paid? It's not this organization can be trusted to re-use the money in a smart way. And ticket prices ain't coming down even if we entered a rebuild. So why should I care about how much Vladdy gets paid? Sign the man. At least he puts butts in the seats.
Unless the Jays will suddenly have an unlimited payroll, I’d say what Vlad will get in free agency is a concern, yes.
