He is clearly trolling the people on here who continue to try to pretend like Varsho is a bench player (because gAbRiel mORenO!). Hopefully you aren't one of those clowns.

Varsho is now up to 98 wRC+ (so basically league-average hitting for his position) with elite defense and above-average baserunning.

If you go by Statcast run values:

Vlad: +36 batting, -3 baserunning, -8 fielding = +25 total runs
Varsho: +2 batting, +1 baserunning, +15 fielding = +18 total runs

Its a lot closer than people would probably assume.

I’ll be generous and grant Vlad co-MVP status (for now)

lol. Even Randle would be in for that, but if he finishes the year hitting better than **** Barry Bonds he’s going to be looking for a whole lot more money.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Vladdy is so hot right now, that he's even lifting Varsho up by batting behind him - true protection. That's the vladdy effect. Vs. what vladdy has which is nobody in front or behind him.

The real deal MVP!

this is the generational hitter we've been waiting to see since 2021. is he doing anything different?

If he is, I have no faith in the Jays' FO or coaching staff being able to recognize it or stick to it given what went on in 2022 and 2023.

fortunately, the coaching staff doesn't make generational hitters. great hitters are who they are because of their own approach/talent/work ethic.
