Gimenez to the IL. Wonder how many people who declared the Gimenez trade a win based on the logic of: 'Horwitz is injured therefore the Gimenez trade is immediately a win based on him playing and Horwitz not' will retract the statement now that the roles are about to be reversed? Me thinks none.

Same people who didn't decry the Varsho trade a loss in the beginning of the season while Moreno put up mediocre #s. Who cares if Moreno sucked while Varsho was injured? Varsho isn't playing, Moreno is, therefore we lost the deal this year? The propositions and hypocrisy here are so pathetic.

You can't declare trades a win or loss based on injuries unless the players taken are injury prone therefore, that's a risk by the GM and his responsibility.

MVP Varsho steals another HR. Imagine hating on this guy or still pretending like they didn’t win that trade, he’s one of the best OFs in baseball.

That’s often what power hitters do, yes. I don’t blame you for forgetting that, we haven’t had much of any since 2022.

Yes, his 18 HR's last year struck fear in opposing pitchers for sure

He played injured (shoulder) for most of the year before missing the last month with it after surgery.

Aberration down year in 2023. Still has the 3rd most HRs on the Jays since the trade and there’s more in the bat.

Interesting that Vlad doesn't get the same benefit of the doubt for "aberration" down years.

Probably because Vlad’s aberration years are actually his good ones (2021 and 2024 versus 2019-2020, 2022-2023, 2025).

Varsho’s only full season where he was a below average league hitter in his career was 2023.

lol what are you counting as "full" seasons? If you're not counting 2024 where he had 513 PA's, you're certainly not counting 2021 when he had only 315 PA's. If we take the seasons with the largest sample sizes, it would be 2022 that looks like the aberration.
