Bo and Vlad look good, Barger is on a heater, Kirk feels like he’ll have a great AB every time up.

If Santander can get healthy and find some rhythm, look out (Yankees ;)

Just caught up on the highlights. Springer is a dumbass for jumping on 3rd base for that out earlier in the game. What was he thinking??

After last weekend's terrible offensive display in a minor league Tampa baseball stadium, this Oakland A's 4 Game series came at the perfect time. 3 Games over .500 for the first time after two months also. Let's hope the momentum continues for the next series, when they are playing against a top NL team like Philadelphia.

I think he tweaked something while running and was trying to shake it off by jumping.

Incredible swing. This team cannot afford to bench guys like Barger and Clement, so their overpaid and overrated acquisitions like Gimenez and Santander continue to stink up the joint when they return from the injury list.

Barger is the new everyday 3B.

But, I can totally see Schneider deciding to platoon Clement and Gimenez at 2B

We could see Clement or Barger in the OF too with Varsho out. Can't see them benching Clement too often for Gimenez when Clement has been playing well on both sides of the ball.

We might end up regretting that Gimenez trade. No one is gonna be taking that contract off our hands.

Gimenez has an OPS of .577 and is hitting .195 on the year, with an on base of .273. That is beyond atrocious and Bradley Zimmer numbers. Cannot believe Cleveland suckered this front office to acquire Ryan Goins 2.0, and absorb almost 100 million over five years remaining on his deal. Nobody is taking that contract off our hands, and you just got to hope the guy can resort back to his 2022 version.

Because he had a bad month just like Clement did in April? Gimenez is going to play just about every day when he gets back. Also likely will end up being one of their more valuable players at the end of the day too given how many runs he saves out there.

Likely scenario is he moves to SS after Bichette is gone. Then, he's a place holder until Nimmala is hopefully ready in a couple years.

Gimenez’s 6.9 WAR since the start of 2023 would rank 2nd on the Jays over that time period. He or Clement will also end up being the team’s SS next season when Bo leaves and the deal was definitely made with that impending departure in mind.

I think we need to temper expectations. A return to the 2023 version is probably already going to be a good outcome.

His offence has been gradually declining ever since that breakout 2022 year and his extension though. He was a below average hitter both of last seasons. But he's decent player value wise due to his defence. But considering how starved for offence this team currently is, I don't know how you would bench Barger or Clement while they're hot to play Gimenez.

Gimenez would be great on offensive powerhouse lineups where he could be at the bottom of the lineup and bring defensive value. But this lineup already has so many other flaws.

But ultimately Gimenez was brought in to be a Bichette insurance policy.

Not sure why this front office could not have acquired a different insurance policy, instead of being stuck for 5 seasons and almost 100 million for Ryan Goins 2.0. No complaints about his defense, but this team is starved for offence and cannot have Barger or Clement on the bench right now.

If Gimenez is replacing Bichette in 2026, talk about another drastic offensive decline at the SS position when you have another below average hitter occupying a regular spot in the lineup, over an above average hitter like Bichette. Hopefully this team can work something out with Bo and keep him in the fold for the long-term.

His ubderlying metrics have looked pretty great glad he's been able to put it together.

This exactly. He was doing everything right to start the season, just not getting the results. I'm really glad that he (and management) were able to recognize that, and not change everything, but instead let him play through it.

Whoever it is, they'll possibly be a placeholder for Arjun Nimmala, who will hopefully be ready for prime time in late 2026 or 2027.

Career-wise, Gimenez is an average MLB hitter. If he can just do that, and coupled with his elite defense, no one will talk about that contract. He's 27 and in his prime - odds are he's just had an early season slump and will eventually come around.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Maybe don't jump up and down on a base during a baseball game next time.

There’s no chance Barger isn’t playing everyday, but I hope they stick with him at 3B. His arm is incredible, makes more fun to watch
