Its not just vladdy.. check out these other numbers since the break:

Bichette: .336/.381/.536
Loperfido: .363/.407/.513
Heineman: .364/.488/.576
Varsho: .323/.417/.742
France: .343/.410/.486 ( …as a Jay)
Schneider: .273/.407/.477

Also, Scherzer is looking a lot better than a #3 right now. His last 4 starts:

7IP 3ER 11K
6IP 1ER 5K
6IP 2ER 5K
7IP 1ER 3K

2 of those games were losses to Det and LA, but he pitched great in both of those games. I dont know if anyone else was beating Boyd yesterday. I guarantee he starts a playoff game. No matter what length the series is.

The bigger question is Bieber. If he looks like a former Cy Young winner too….Schneider has dome decisions to make.

its good to see schneider back to being a contributor. after that breakout season a few years ago it looked like he was a long term fixture for the team, and then he fell off a bit, but now he seems to have found himself again even if its only as a platoon player.

As a former athlete myself I have a ton of respect for guys like that. After a hot start he hit rock bottom and it looked like he got figured out and was slowly on his way out of the league but he worked his butt off to get himself a chance and he's doing very well. He might just be a platoon guy or a end of the bench guy but he will give you everything he's got and guys like that are good for the team culture and can contribute to a winning environment.
