Any word on where our farm system was ranked amongst all teams this off-season?

I'd imagine that, until some of the 2007 draftees and international signings start to produce in the minors, the Jays system will be the bottom tier in the league (bottom 10 at least). Ricciardi has improved as a drafter, but 2002-05 (especially 2005) really hurt the system.

John Sickels and Baseball America released their top prospects lists, and the pattern for the Jays was basically the same: Travis Snider and flip a coin. The major players in the 2007 draft were able to leapfrog over everyone other than Snider on both lists (Lind and Litsch don't qualify). The health of the farm system moving forward is essentially on the back of Snider, the 2007 draftees (Cecil, Ahrens, Arencibia, Jackson, Eiland, Tolisano) and the international signings (namely Chavez and Fuenmayor). Considering half of those guys probably won't pan out, it's tough to get too excited about the system. Although, most of those guys should have value in trades considering their age and upside.

Baseball America's Top 10
1. Travis Snider
2. Brett Cecil
3. Kevin Ahrens
4. J.P. Arencibia
5. Ricky Romero
6. Justin Jackson
7. John Tolisano
8. Curtis Thigpen
9. Dave Purcey
10. Ryan Patterson

John Sickels Top 10
1. Travis Snider, OF, Grade B+
2. Brett Cecil, LHP, Grade B+
3. Kevin Ahrens, 3B, Grade B-
4. J.P. Arencibia, C, Grade C+ (for some reason I have a few doubts)
5. John Tolisano, 2B, Grade C+
6. Justin Jackson, SS, Grade C+ (will he hit?)
7. Trystan Magnuson, RHP, Grade C+
8. Curtis Thigpen, C, Grade C+
9. Yohermyn Chavez, OF, Grade C+
10. Marc Rzepcynski, LHP, Grade C+

I don't see how Romero and Purcey did anything last year to prove that they still belong in a Jays top 10 prospect list. Both aren't even on Sickel's list.

Sad that Patterson's stock is dropping. He was a beast LSU.

Looks as though JP might have something brewing here with his last few first rounders, which were high school players.

I'm excited about Snider, that's about it.

I think we've got the worst farm system in the league.
