Am I wrong in this though, didn't the Jays use to pay for those amateurs. I remember us being an organization at the forefront of finding talent from all corners. I know this was a long time ago but even in the Ash ere, we were able to find good you talent. In fact most of the homegrown talent currently on the Jays is pre-JP.

I understand competing with the Yankees and Red Sox in terms of buying young talent is tough, but the fact that Ricciardi has such a horrible record drafting speaks more to him than what other teams are doing.
