BJ Ryan update

Post#1 » by evilRyu » Tue Apr 8, 2008 3:16 am

Apparently BJ Ryan pitched an inning for Syracuse.. I was under the impression that they were gonna shut him down for a while, so I was a bit shocked to see that he pitched..

It also said that Chacin started a game for the Chiefs as well.

Never be shoked by anything JP does with his injured players.

"He went two innings allowing four runs and seven hits while walking one.."

Ouch. Chacin is done imo. Too bad, I thought he would have been a decent starter in this league.

Yeh, Chacin has fallen off the map.. he got a ton of run support, so he probably would've been gone a while ago.

We dont need Chacin, our pitching staff is unbelievable at the moment. Should they all stay healthy all year it could be one of the best in baseball.

The good news is that Ryan seems to be succeeding but I am still worried about all of this rushing. I think that everyone is ok with putting up with Accardo until June if that means that it increases the probability that BJ has a healthy season.

JP actually announced this as the team's intention on a telecast awhile back. JP said that BJ would be back up with the big club by the middle/end of April.

But honestly, who are we to judge if this is the right move or not? Ryan did throw 2 solid innings during the spring so it's not like his arm is falling off. Then they were smart enough not to rush him into the opening day lineup and now he seems to be ramping up for the end of the month. I love criticizing JP but I fail to see the problem on this one.

BJ activated for today's game against Texas...didn't think that would happen so soon. And they sent League back down. That says a lot about what the Jays think of Jesse Carlson in my opinion. Hopefully he is actually ready to be back and won't get re-injured.

Glad to see BJ back and doing what he does best. That triple scared the life out of me but it was good to see BJ make the right pitches to seal the victory. I'm still a little confused of why League was sent down instead of Wolfe...but happy with a a great return outing.

i'm not a huge League fan and i really think he needs to work his way back up...he looked pretty bad VS Oakland as well...

I was surprised that League was sent down too until I looked at his stats. Obviously he's having problems throwing strikes.
