One thing i don't like about the Sportsnet broadcasts this season is how they keep showing random shots of the crowd during almost every inning. And sometimes it's not in a moment where nothing is happening, but rather something like in the middle of an at bat. I know they usually do it on other broadcasts, but it's usually at a pause, or if there's some crazy fan. Also, i'm sick of having to hear Jamie go "Awwww would you look at that"
Just because it's on sportsnet doesn't mean there the company producing the game. Usually dome productions does the actual production of the game and then they fibre a feed back to sportsnet, who in turn airs the game live. Notice how highlights on other stations don't always have the sportsnet bug in them?? It's because those other companies are getting a clean feed from the production as well...
Anyways, being that I haven't chimed in on Jaime Campbell... I don't mind him. He isn't the best, but he's not the worst. As others have mentioned he is defientely better than Rod Black, and he's waaayyyy better than Rob Faulds...
For color guys, I actually like Rance. I feel his insight is far and away the bset. He made a career on being a smart player and I find that is evident in his broadcasts. He often knows what pitches are coming, and he is 100% focused on the game. He also notices players mistakes, or tendency's right away. Although because he is 100% about the game, he is extremely dry with next to no personality, which doesn't work as a color guy.
Tabler is by far the most polished of the 3. He has a descent amount of knowledge, has a nice voice, a nice delivery, and a good sense of when to say something. He mixes knowledge and entertainment well.
Fletcher has alot of knowledge as well, but his is mostly centralized to the pitching staff. Not too say that's awful, he's often very insightful... But 1 dimensional. He has a descent voice, but does have some issues with timing and rambling. He just doesn't sound fluid all the time....
